Studio Procedures and Guidelines

Arrival Time

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before class. As a drop-off studio without a lobby, we kindly ask that you leave the building while your Tiny Dancer is in class. Upon arrival, you are welcome to take a tour and assist your Tiny Dancer in getting settled.

Dress Code and Attire

At VOLTA, we believe in the importance of studio uniforms and a dress code to foster a sense of belonging and create an identity within our community. Our uniforms encourage discipline, resist peer pressure, identify non-students, reduce barriers, and enhance school pride, freedom of movement and attendance. To maintain a productive and comforting dance environment, we require students to follow our dress code policy, ensuring safety, unity, and professionalism.

Summer Dance Class Dress Code:

Students attending our summer dance classes have the option to wear traditional dance attire or fitness clothes that are form fitting and suitable for dance. Traditional dance attire includes leotards, tights, ballet skirts (optional), and ballet shoes. For those opting for fitness clothes, form-fitting tank tops, camisoles, or t-shirts paired with leggings, fitted shorts, or yoga pants are acceptable. Ballet shoes are not required for all classes, and children under 6 are encouraged to dance barefoot for their comfort and safety. However, if they prefer to wear shoes but don't own any, they can borrow shoes from our shoe library. Dancers enrolled in ballet classes (Diamonds, Rubies, Sapphires, and Emeralds) must wear ballet shoes as part of their required attire. Hair should be neatly secured away from the face.

ATTENDANCE

Your child’s attendance in class is very important to their peers and our teaching staff. As a member of the team, it is a commitment for you to ensure your child attends their classes on time each week and attends all lessons planned for them. Not only do absences impact the concert routines we create, it also impacts the social and confidence-building principals we work hard to foster in each age group. Set up your child for success!  If you do have to miss class for whatever reason, call or email us to report your child’s absence.  Tuition and registration fees are non-refundable. No credits or refunds are given for missed classes.

Make-Up Class Policy

We understand that sometimes life can get in the way of attending a dance class. That's why we offer make-up classes for any missed sessions - within the same season. Just let the front desk know which class you'll be attending in place of your missed session. No need to worry about missing out on any dance fun!  Make-up classes should match the same age group and/or equivalent level.  Tuition and registration fees are non-refundable. No credits or refunds are given for missed classes.

Waivers & Consent Forms

All students require a completed waiver form before entering the studio. You can find all necessary forms here - be sure to submit them before the first class to avoid any delays.
