What to Expect
Weekly Rehearsals: Learn choreography, refine technique, and bring Nutcracker characters to life
Character Development: Embody roles like the Sugar Plum Fairy, Mouse Queen, and The Nutcracker
Storytelling Through Dance: Perform excerpts from the Nutcracker repertoire tailored to each level
The Big Stage Experience: Rehearse and prepare for a full-scale production that showcases every dancer’s hard work

Whether stepping on stage for the first time or returning for another season, every performer plays an important part in bringing this holiday tradition to life!
Show Participation Requirements
Corps de Ballet

Open to VOLTA students only

Must be enrolled in regular once-a-week, Season 10 dance classes (starting Sept ’26)

Must have completed the Nutcracker Training Camp in August 2026
Featured Roles (Audition Required)
Dancers must meet participation requirements to join the cast, and additional featured roles are available through auditions only​

Solo/Duet or Principal Roles

Open to VOLTA students only

Must have completed the “Middles” or “Bigs” Nutcracker Training Camp
-
“Littles” are not eligible for featured roles

Corps de Ballet Participation

Required for all show participants

Weekly 2-hour rehearsals (Sundays 1:30-3:30pm starting September 2026) Fee: $360

Featured Role Opportunities
(audition required)

Solo/Duet: Additional 1-hour weekly rehearsal – Fee: $175 (if awarded)
Principal Roles: Additional 2-hour weekly rehearsal – Fee: $225 (if awarded)

All dancers pay the Corps de Ballet fee. Featured roles are optional and require an audition
Fees for Solo/Duet or Principal roles are only applied if your dancer is cast in that role
